Geofoam was used a part of the Maggie Daley Park reconstruction to create hills and landscapes without adding excessive weight to the parking structure underneath.  After the geofoam was in place, the topsoil and trees were transported back to their original locations. To move the topsoil and trees without leaving permanent impressions in the geofoam, the construction company used multi-purpose crawler carriers. Workers also planted an extra 700 trees to make the Maggie Daley Park more eco-friendly.
